Hi Ramy,

The Speedtest app from Ookla is now accessible and you can use it on WiFi or
3G to check your download speed, upload speed and PING time to the server.
Make sure you first go to Settings (at the bottom above the home key) and
make sure a server near you is selected. If you aren't sure you can try to
double tap on Auto Select, wait a moment and check again or you can double
tap the "Change Server" button and then pick a server from a list of servers
which show the city, who they belong to and how far they are away from you
in Kilometres.

You can also change a few more things in Settings like how you want to have
the speed displayed etc.

When you are done just tap on where it says "Speedtest" at the bottom left
and then there is just a "Begin Test" button approx. in the middle of the
screen.

After you start the test you have to give it maybe 30 seconds or up to a
minute, then you can check at the top of the screen to find the ping time in
milliseconds and the download and upload speed. There is a bunch of other
stuff on that page, if you have problems locating the result, then just tap
on "Results", it's another option along the bottom and it's pretty much
right above the home key. Here you have all the results of your tests
displayed in a simple table.

As far as knowing if anybody else is using your router this is something you
probably have to check on your routers management interface. Most routers
have an area where all devices are listed that are currently connected to
the router although sometimes what you see there is not very clear, it may
only show you an IP Address and the MAC address of the device. If it's a
computer it may have the computer's name.

However, if you suspect others somehow use your WiFi, then simply change
your router's password and make sure you use a good encryption method like
WPA and set a strong password. If anybody else has your router's password
and is using it this will put a stop to it. It's like if you have given out
a few keys over the years and maybe you think somebody comes in your house
when you aren't there. Change the lock and that takes care of it except it's
easier to change a WiFi password than it is to change a lock!

Lastly, make sure your router's admin password is also changed from its
default. If, for example, you have a Linksys router and somebody can gain
access to it, it's an easy thing to google what the default user name and
password are lLinksys uses. If you don't do this and somebody can access
your router's user interface, they could theoretically change the WiFi
password on you and even change the router default password which means the
only way you get access again is to do a complete factory hard reset which
would wipe out any settings the router has and you have to completely
reconfigure it, set up a secure WiFi and so on.

Regards,

Sieghard
