Hi Siegard,I just got a cordless phone with link to cell. You can link your
IPhone via Bluetooth to this phone system so you can answer your cellphone
with the cordless. You can discontinue your land service and set the system
to cell only. That is what I plan to do after I try this for a while. I
want to make sure the quality of sound is okay before doing so. It even
transfers your ring tones from your cellphone to the cordless, plus has
talking caller ID.
This way, you can leave your cell on the charger while you answer the phone
anywhere.
I hope this wasn't too off topic.

Hi Ricardo,
If Anthony only has an iPhone and uses it as his main home number, turning
on Do Not Disturb may not be something he wishes to do if he is waiting for
an important call. I got rid of my home landline as well about 3 or 4 years
ago and I already decided as well to buy either an iPod Touch or an iPad
Mini at some point so that I don't always have to use my iPhone for
everything. I listen to Audible a lot and while that doesn't take up a lot
of battery, it still does use power and if I had another device for at home
I probably wouldn't have to charge my iPhone all the time.
Regards,
Sieghard

Many business people carry both an iPad in one form or another plus an
iPhone. My thought that if the mini was also a phone, that would
eliminate one device. Sense I've never even touched an iPad I'm just
assuming the mini would just be an over grown iPhone. My other
thinking was it being larger, would also be easier to type on and
possibly eliminating the need for an external keyboard. If I'm doing
my email on my iPhone, I use my Amazon Basics Bluetooth keyboard to
enter in the text. I think that would be good when I'm in the motor
home and saves me from having to bring along my netbook I already
have a 17.3 inch entertainment laptop that has a 10 and a half hour
battery life and we use that to watch movies and such when dry camping
so I'm already looking toward consolidation of devices.----- Original

Yes, I agree. why would anyone use a "telephone" communications device
of this nature in any other way? Besides, for those who have lost
track of the discussion, the argument centers around placing cell
service feature on an iPad mini which makes 100% sense to me and
anyone else who has the intelligence to primarily use with and
earpiece and alike. I know this simple solution doesn't make for
mindless list serve arguments, but it is a very good solution, and as much
choice as possible is best. (Smile).

I can see where Magic Jack and/or Talkatone would work with a
Bluetooth headset so you aren't exactly having to hold an 8 inch slab
of glass on your face.

I can barrel along pretty quickly with Fleksy as well but get
tired of the copy and paste thing which of course isn't Fleksy's
fault. Having this keyboard right there and available is worth the
price IMHO.
