Where is the repeat button; I see a checkbox which I checked and then
unchecked because it sounds like that just shows it as completed which it
obviously is not.
I can edit it or delete or reorder it but nothing says repeat.

You can definitely set a recurring reminder. I think the easiest thing to do
would be to ask Siri to remind you on June 18 at 7 PM or whatever time and
date you next want to be reminded. Siri should show you the reminder and
give you the opportunity to approve or reject it. Approve it, and then open
the Reminders app, find the reminder, and press Edit. The date and time
should be shown. There's also a Repeat button. Double-tap that and choose
Every Month. Then you should be reminded at the same time and date each
month.

same day of every month, as a reminder for me to pay this particular bill.
I am open to using native phone apps or to purchasing one if needed.
