I'd put it in the calendar, and for me at least I'd put it in as a recurring appointment using Outlook 2010 and let it sync to the phone. I have an appointment like that for our bottled water delivery dates since I always forgot when I am alone to put them out. I set it up in Outlook first. I would imagine that you could do the same on the phone, but I set this up before I got my iPhone so the message at one time only showed up on the computer and sometimes I did not see it until evening when it was too late.
