Hi Paul,

What I described shouldn't require a repeat button, if you tell SIRI to
"Remind me every Tuesday at 8 AM to do something" or "Remind me on the 15th
of every month" then this should set up the recurring reminder for you. You
can make sure it did by checking if the confirmation asks you to confirm the
reminder which starts on such and such day and you can always open the
reminder in Reminders afterwards and check it out.

Sieghard

Sieghard, is it better to tell siri to do this every month or to try and
find the repeat button?

Hi Paul,

As Anna pointed out, SIRI can definitely set a recurring reminder. I wonder
if before you forgot to confirm the reminder and that is why it didn't work.
I, for example, asked SIRI to "Remind me to take the garbage out every
Tuesday at 8 AM". SIRI showed me the reminder and I tapped on "Yes" to
confirm, now every Tuesday morning at 8 I get a reminder saying "Take the
Garbage out".

In your case, you would say, using "telephone bill" as an example along with
the 18th and 8 AM as the reminder time:

Remind me to pay my telephone bill at 8 AM on the 18th of every month

I just tried this and SIRI came back and said "Here is your reminder
starting on June 18th at 8 AM, Pay my telephone bill".

I find SIRI is by far the easiest and quickest way to set reminders and I
never use the Alarmed app any more. I guess it has some features like
nagging and setting the reminder to come up a certain time before the actual
time you want it and so on, but if I want to be reminded of a 9 AM dentist
appointment half an hour early, I just ask SIRI to "Remind me about my 9
o'clock dentist appointment at 8:30 AM". I can have my reminder done before
I even have time to unlock my phone and open the Alarmed app.

Sieghard

All, I want to do something that will alert me on the 18th or 19th of the
month to pay a bill.

What are my alternatives?

I have tried reminders, but when I tell siri to remind me of something for
another date, she doesn't. Instead she just reminds me now.

I want to hear a sound or get some kind of alert on a recurring basis, the
same day of every month, as a reminder for me to pay this particular bill. I
am open to using native phone apps or to purchasing one if needed.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Paul
