One more thing to add. A pop-up window is sort of like a dialog box in Windows The difference however is that a dialog box and windows will usually close when you press one of the buttons in it. Many times a pop-up on the iPad will have things for you to select and it will close, but if you want to cancel or if it doesn't close, then you need to touch the outside of the pop up and then double tap to close it.
