Yes, and you also must be home and therein lies the problem, I can't do this
from work and most days I am gone from 6:30 AM until 7 PM.

If you ever have to send something via priority mail, the USPS will pick it
and any other mail up. I sell on eBay and Amazon and have around four to
five pick ups a week. In fact, that was how I sent off an old player that I
had replaced because the battery was konking out on me after only a couple
of hours.
My mail carrier comes to my door and I just hand the orders for that day to
her and that's it. Nice and convenient.
The pick ups are scheduled through their website and you have to have an
account with them, but it's free and easy enough to set up.
If nothing else, it's always good to have as something in your back pocket
should you ever need to get any mail or packages out and can't count on a
ride or for someone to take it for you.
But anyway, regarding the app, if it'll behave similarly to how the
dedicated player does and offers increased faster playback speed than what
any app is currently offering, talk about all-in-one accessibility heaven.

Records were scratched, cassette tangled, digital is great although some of
the older titles are a bit muffled. I just hope the app comes sooner rather
than later. Sometimes the speaker on my phone is better than the Stream and
since I ended up with one of the simple NLS machines when I asked for
Advanced, if the book is marked up at multiple levels and I don't plan to
read it straight through I use the stream, only good thing about the simple
NLS player in my humble opinion is the speaker, I use it for the cartridge
magazines, keep a few more muffled titles on a thumb drive but for the most
part I don't use it a lot, I prefer navigation on the Stream no matter how
you cut it, and hope it will be similar on the iPhone app.

If there were a magic way to get the NLS player back to the library instead
of having to take it to a physical post office I'd call and request the
advanced but with my work schedule the time I often must spend at the
hospital and such, I don't go to the post office except once in the past
three years to get a certified letter and I was not happy about that, had to
find a willing ride to pick it up and it took 8 days before I could get
there and then the letter was really not worth the hassle.

I have nothing but bad memories of books on records. Not only was there a
lot of flipping and switching but the worst part was all the damage done to
the platter by previous users. Pops, click and worst of all track jumping.
Cassettes were much better. Besides all that, they had the advantage of size
and that your place was held if you paused one title and started another.
Sound quality was good enough for voice recordings.
Digital has been a vast leap forward.
I love my Streams and we'll see what develops with the apps for the two
smartphone OSes.
