I generally have the phone either in a briefcase or in my pocket. I don't
worry about dropping it, but I'm just careful.

Subject: Re: How many folks carry their iPhone without a case?
I think one is living dangerously when using the iPhone without a case. The
iPhone 5 is not shatterproof!! My sighted sister had hers in a pretty
little decorative case and one drop on the driveway shattered the glass.
Luckily, she had the insurance but it still cost her $200 out of pocket.
Now she has her phone in a big, ugly Defender case like mine. I have
dropped my phone at least ten times in the last 6 months since it is always
on my person and pockets for women's clothing are not always secure. I do
not think it would have survived so well if I did not have the defender
case.
My investment in the phone is too great to take chances. As a person with
extremely limited vision the probability of my knocking the phone to the
floor is great.
It only takes that one time in a thousand when one's attention slips or just
plain bad luck. So unless you are wealthy enough to replace the phone
easily my advice is to put it in a very protective case.
I don't think putting it in a case makes it that much harder to use. I have
the defender case and the Speed Dots face cover as well.
Just my opinion.

depends on which model, some are tougher than others, and no, doubt they're
that flimsy either, but risk is risk and it's a lotof wedge on the line if
you fluff it, or drop it more specifically. And the aesthetics won't last
long either, a big issue when trying to resell iProducts.
I have to agree with you though, they're designed to be SoooOoo deliciously
tactile as to be caressed almost sensually. Ok, maybe i'm a perve, but for
sure they are made to appeal this way.

I'm finding I love the way my iPhone 4 feels neked, but is it too risky? Are
they really *that* fragile? I know two who do this, and am jealous of their
bravery. What say y'all?
