Liz, keeping my screen locked really does substantially increase my battery
life. I've found that the only apps that really drain the battery are the
GPS ones and then the ones that use location services, so something like
Tune In Radio can also be a drain if I use it long enough.

I charge my phone once a day, and I try to charge it when I am in bed. I
try to maximize my battery power by keeping the screen locked when I am not
using the phone and keeping the App switcher empty. I also for the most
part will not charge the phone until I get to 20% power.
