I also have a solar powered external battery and charger I leave on my patio.
When I go out in the ebenings I plug my phone it to get a boost.

I charge my phone once a day, and I try to charge it when I am in bed. I
try to maximize my battery power by keeping the screen locked when I am not
using the phone and keeping the App switcher empty. I also for the most
part will not charge the phone until I get to 20% power.
