The Bose Sound Dock 10 goes for around 6 or 7 hundred if you buy the extra Bluetooth adaptor and it weighs 28 pounds so it 'ain't no portible! <grin> ----- Original Message ----- From: Rose Combs To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, May 31, 2013 10:11 PM Subject: RE: Bose SoundDock 10
Hmm, check for updates, maybe I don't have the 10, but I know it is a Bose, and mine has batteries, the two Tom bought or ordered, one as a birth day present and one as his award for working 40 years at the hospital don't have the battery but have the same great sound. Well I think they do, they are both still in boxes, so why he got either of them is beyond me. I guess one was to make up to me for getting the TV for my 35-year award, the TV that turns on or off on its own terms, has scared me more than once coming on at 2 in the morning or being on when I came home knowing no one should be here, we just can't seem to get it a total match with Direc and I stopped touching any part of it even though it was supposed to be mine. Why I may have wanted, although I did not know it, another Bose when I had one is also something I can't figure out. I don't know if it was high ammonia and confusion, high or low blood sugar or just being quirky that give me three speaker systems and a haunted TV. I know there is a way you can check for firmware updates but for the life of me I can't remember how. When I did check, mine was up to date. If anybody knows please refresh my aging memory. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rose Combs To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, May 31, 2013 9:33 AM Subject: RE: Bose SoundDock 10 No issue with mine, have a long cable attached because I don't want to take the phone out of the case and it never beeps at me except when I plug the phone in. All of its controls are via a remote, which is quite easy to use. The manual says that the unit can either be powered off by use of the remote or by removing the phone or iPod from the dock. Problem is, the SoundDock 10 beeps every half hour when the iPhone is not playing music. In other words, unless I am listening to music via the dock, it does the same two-tone beep that it makes when you first plug it in. Does anyone else out there use a SoundDock 10? Do you have this issue? Any idea what might be going on? It's a mystery, since the SoundDock 10 has no internal clock that I know of. And yet it beeps every thirty minutes.
