This dock has no power button anywhere. It is exclusively controlled via the remote. You are probably thinking of the SoundDock Series 2. As it turns out, my problem was solved by switching electrical outlets. Nobody can figure out why this helped, since the first outlet does not short out when I'm playing music. Nevertheless, when no iPhone or iPod is in the dock, it gives a two-tone beep once every 30 minutes without fail. In the second outlet, it never does. Very strange.

Problem is, the SoundDock 10 beeps every half hour when the iPhone is not playing music. In other words, unless I am listening to music via the dock, it does the same two-tone beep that it makes when you first plug it in. Does anyone else out there use a SoundDock 10? Do you have this issue? Any idea what might be going on? It's a mystery, since the SoundDock 10 has no internal clock that I know of. And yet it beeps every thirty minutes.
