Hi. Many of us have had more luck with the video option. Just double tap the record button, and you should hear a beep to let you know the app is working. Now hold the back facing camera so it's facing something you want recognized, be sure the camera is several inches away and try holding it still for at least 30 seconds. The image including the text is sent off to a server someplace, so the recognition isn't instantaneous. If you don't get a response, try shifting the camera a bit or moving the object in question. For a box or bag, try turning it over or repositioning it in case the label isn't available.

Hi Esther and all,
I even unstalled again but still doesn't do much. I have an iphone4s if that makes a difference. What does flag n do? Tapping that brings up a list of languages but when i doubletap the app ends and i go bzck to the main screen. I hit the camera so it shows still camera which i believe is correct. Just don' understand why it's working for others but not here.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Don

Hi Don and Sieghard,

I just tried the version that said "Update", and Talking Goggles seems to be talking for me. I held it up in front of some text, and it read it out. (The other version seems to be a free version of Talking Goggles.)

Cheers,

Esther
