Hello Listers, As has been pointed out before, the screen curtain does not help extend battery life. I wrote to Apple Accessibility and ask for an official statement regarding screen curtain and brightness and below is the reply:
From: Apple Accessibility [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, September 10, 2013 7:45 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [415306] Screen curtain and battery draining Hello, Sieghard. Dimming the screen is the correct means of regulating backlight power consumption for best battery life between charges. Officially: "[turning] screen curtain 'on' has no effect on battery. Dimming the screen does effect the battery." The curtain function is a means to obscure screen content quickly, hence the three-finger triple-tap activates it.
