This is where the control center will be a welcomed addition to iOS 7 for
those of us who have sighted family members. Now when my sighted wife wants
to use my phone for whatever reason or if I need for her to check something
out for me on the screen, I don't have to go hunting for the settings app
and dig into the brightness option and then flick the slider up and then go
back and dim it to 0 once she's done. That and I can remove the settings app
out of my dock since it won't be as esential for easy access...

battery draining

For all of my mobile devices, I set the brightness to 0 percent. Since I
can't read them, no reason to waste power on a bright display. I do also use
the screen curtain, mainly because I do have some vision and my eyes are
very light sensitive.
