It took close to 3 months for me to get an AT&T iPhone 5 from my local Apple
store. Every time I stopped by, they said they only had Sprint phones.

I bet a lot of Apple employees are gonna be truly ready to go home by the end
of the day on Friday! It always seems that Apple ships a fairly small number of
new phones to be available on the first day!

Scott Van Gorp, another list member and close friend of mine, is going with
me to the verizon store and we will be waiting in line about 2 hours before
they open. We did the same last year for the 5, and all went smoothly. This
year, we are signing up for the new edge program verizon has which allows a
device upgrade as soon as 6 months or your other device is half paid off. Yes,
you are buying your device at full price, but over 24 months. If you want more
info, please contact verizon, as I am not overly familiar with the program. I
will never have to worry about missing out on the latest iPhone release again
now that I will be on the edge program.

Hi all. Just curious about what different people will do when it comes
time to purchasing the iPhone 5s. Oh, and before I go on, just a point
to note, the s in the name 5s is lower-case because if it's a capital S
it looks too much like the number 5 visually, so Apple made it a small s
on purpose. So, the correct way of writing it is iPhone 5s. Anyway,
since you cannot pre-order the 5s, will you go to your local phone
carrier store, or to the Apple store? I'm just curious as to whether
people will go this Friday and wait long lines like Black Friday in the
US, or if they will wait a few days until the lines get less.

I'm pretty excited myself because this will be my first time getting a
new phone the day it comes out. In the past I've gotten it when it was
an afterthought, or in the case of the 4s, when it had been out for
about 4 months already. usually I wait in case there are initial
problems found with the first batch of hardware, but this time around
I'm diving in with my eyes closed as the saying goes.

Although all members are welcome to respond, I'm hoping that only people
who are getting the 5s will respond to this thread since I'm not asking
about whether it's a good idea, or if the 4s is better, or if we should
stay with what we have. This is because there are other viphone threads
  which have already covered this.

  Cheers.
