I had a blueant Q2 and had a problem as well.
I like my phone on my right hip and the earpiece on my left ear. I had bad
connectivity issues.

When I saw that the Bluez had Bluetooth 2.0, I thought that I may have the
same issue. 
I'm waiting for a more up to date Bluetooth version on the Bluez before  I
get one.
