Hi David,

I prefer the single finger method of swiping up, but I just brought up my
lock screen, touched the time and then did a 3 finger swipe up and the
Control Center came up fine.
Did you turn on the "Access from lock screen" option in Settings, Control
Centre?
I am also not sure if having a passcode would have any effect as to whether
the Control Centre comes up in the lock screen, I don't have a passcode set.

Subject: Bringing up iPod controls on lock screen

When nothing is playing in the audio player, it is possible to access the
music player. However, access is no longer done using the double press of
the home button.

Access controls are now located in the control center. I have not been able
to access the control centre using the three finger flick up method whilst
on the initial lock screen.

To access the control centre from the lock screen, touch and hold one finger
on the display just above the home button until two ascending tones are
heard. Then, without lifting the finger from the display, slide it
vertically straight up a couple inches before removing it from the
touchscreen. This opens the control centre where the player controls are
located.
