Ok, thank you for the clarification. You now conveyed something different. 
You are stating that it is necessary to press the power button, tap the 
screen, then perform the 3-finger swipe to the right. this is very different 
than what you implied in your original post. When one isn't conveying 
information in a specific manner, confusion such as this arises.

I'm not having any difficulties whatsoever. I'm only looking for "better 
faster."

I've been simply double-tapping the Unlock button, but it isn't as quick to 
find as previously ( immediately above the home button), so I thought I 
would experiment to find a faster way.

In the end, both of these methods are pretty quick. Thanks for all the help.

Sorry what I am trying to say is that the way others convey it works
is how I do it and have no problem. I press the power button then
swipe once to the right with three fingers. Their is need to tap the
screen before doing this. If that still doesn't work for you try
memorizing where the unlock button is towards the bottom of the
screen.
