You can control how quickly the phone or IPod shuts downby going to
settings, general, autolock and changing the length of time the phone
will stay on without action before locking. I have mine set to never
so don't have this problem. I'm not sure why you are having to swipe
three times. Maybe shut down the phone and reboot it.
