Well said, David, I will certainly keep Brian's name in the back of my mind
and as part of that list of people who apparently reward the effort of
others with snide remarks. If Brian didn't want guesses he should have
provided an exact and detailed description of what he already tried. Just as
you I most likely can "guess" what his problem is, I will also not risk
getting a dressing down by offering said guess.

Regards,
Sieghard

An amusing reply. Since none of us is able to see your iDevice, the only
thing we can do is make educated, trouble-shooting, guesses. Since you do
not want trouble-shooting suggestion assistance, please take your iDevice to
an Apple Store for genius bar assistance, your carrier store for potential
assistance, or call Apple's accessibility support. However, please be aware
that all of the above, but especially the telephone call, will bring about
trouble-shooting guessing to attempt to find the actual problem so it may be
resolved.

As for me, since I am not being paid to assist, I will reframe from making
suggestions (guesses), no matter how educated, for your situation.

side of the phone at the top is slid all the way to the front. There's also
the Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> voice Over On -> Use sound
effects option. Make sure this is turned on.
