Alan, I have an iPhone 5 and mine is always in my pocket too. Based on a recommendation I got from this list, I use the Tech21 case that completely covers the back of the phone and the sides with holes for the plugs and the lightning connector. I also have a film protector on the screen since the Tech21 does not cover it at all. The case does have a special material around the edges that remains flexible until it comes in contact with something at which time it hardens. I really like this case because it offers good protection without adding any bulk to the phone.
