Which bluetooth adapter did your wife get for you and how much? I've been thinking about getting something like this since I have a few 30 pin docks around the house. I've seen some on Amazon but I'm afraid the transport controls on the dock might not work with the adapter plugged in.Best Regards, Rick alfaro On 10/25/2013 2:56 PM, Alan Paganelli wrote:I have a Bose Sound Dock 10 that I got for Christmas from my wife 2 years ago. It comes with a bunch of adaptors you can put in to fit your device but it's still a 32 pin connector. She bought me the Bluetooth adaptor. I'm very glad she did. I pared my iPhone 5s with it yesterday. Now both my iPhone 4 and my 5s both can connect to the sound dock 10. ------- Regards, Alan Go Chicago Bears in 2013! In fact if you just go to target.com and search for iPhone 5 speaker dock, you will see a few of them. FYI, another possibility is a Bluetooth speaker that has a USB charging port. This means you can play to the speaker via Bluetooth and charge your phone via the charging USB port. In fact this is what I did to replace my Klipsch iPhone speaker dock which only worked with a 30 pin iDevice. The one I decided on was the SoundFreaq Kick for $99. It has controls for play/paus, volume up/down, and prev/next and it has the USB charging port. It sounds terrific and will go about 8 hours on a charge if you want to use it as a portable. I just keep it plugged in but if I need to go portable with it I have the option. It's bigger than a JamBox but still quite portable and sounds way better than the small JamBox does. I would easily get 2 or maybe even 3 days out of my iPhone battery if I used a different device to listen to books when I am at home and of course doingemail and browsing would be nicer, too. I could even turn off WiFi on myiPhone most of the time which would save even more battery. However, even if I had an iPad Mini, I would still often use my Outdoor Tech Turtleshell speaker. It has Play/Pause, volume up/down and skip forward/back buttons and a speakerphone so I can answer a call on it. Often if my iPhonebattery is low I just plug it in in the bedroom and my 1,100 square foothouse (that's the upstairs, basement is the same) has very few spots where Iloose reception. I can just be in the living room or the kitchen with myTurtleshell speaker and listen and I can even take it in the shower where Ihave a rack a bit higher than head height and where it stays mostly dry.TheTurtleshell is IPX 6 dust and waterproof so it doesn't matter if it getsdamp from steam or even if it gets a few drops of water or a bit of a splash on it.
