Hi Sandy Well, that I did to fix this issue is this. 1. connect the USB cord of my iPhone 4 to my computer. 2. with the Dot connector disconnected of my iPhone 4, press the home button, and connect the dot connector in my iPhone 3. Hold pressing the home button, until iTunes says something like iTunes detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Then iTunes will start to make questions. This process also restore the iPhone as factory settings, or from a back up. It deleted everything of my iPhone 4, and just I had to restore it, and my iPhone is going to be activated today by my friend. Thanks Sandy, and thanks for all and every one. P

Hi Pablo, I am not sure about this but… try plugging your iPhone for into the power then hold the sleep and home buttons down for at least 30 seconds. You have to hold them down together long enough so that you hear the iPhone beginning to talk to you again. This is different from the normal reset of holding them down for maybe 10 seconds. I have the impression, from previous posts on this list, that this might get you past the password issue. You will be asked if you wish to restore the phone from backup or restore as the new iPhone. I would suggest that you choose the second and restore as a new phone. If you are asked for a password, I think, that you would need to use your Apple ID and not any other type of password.
