I'm sorry, i didn't see the part where you said it had already been wiped until
now.

What cloud service did you use? If it was the built in photo stream, it only
backs up the most recent 1000 pictures unless you manually add them to a
personally-created stream. :/

Personally, I use google picasa to backup my photos semi-automatically. You
download the google+ app, login or create an account with a gmail, then backup
all of your current photos (follow this path: settings, camera and photos, auto
backup, backup all photos and videos). Once everything is backed up, any new
photos are backed up automatically each time you open the app. You could also
use the automation service IFTTT to automatically backup every photo you take
almost instantly with Flickr (yahoo's picture service). The initial setup is
similar, except you go through yahoo and the Flickr app. But then you download
the Ifttt app, use a "recipe" to backup photos to Flickr automatically, then
you're all set. Both services allow for virtually limitless storage, although
I'm not sure how accessible the two are, comparatively speaking. But i would
say google is the better accessible service, based on how accessible the rest
of their products are.
