I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe your unlock status is posted anywhere officially. The best thing to do would be to simply try a SIM card from a different carrier and see if it activates. Alternatively you could try to contact Apple, but given the age of the phone they might charge for a support incident.

Roberts Sent: October 28, 2013 11:50 AM To: Viphone Subject: Confirming that an iPhone is unlocked This is an embarrassingly stupid question to which I really need an answer. A couple of years ago, I bought a 3-GS from a fellow who had upgraded. I used the 3-GS exclusively on WIFI, no phone service. Now that I have a 4-S, I decided to attempt to get the 3-GS unlocked as it would increase its already minimal resale value. This was an extremely frustrating process because I am no longer an A T and T customer, nor is the phone's original owner. I ultimately got an A T and T service rep who listened, and understood and completed the request and stated that because it is an iPhone, all I had to do was to back up the 3-GS, wipe it, and then restore from the back up. I have backed it up but have not yet wiped and restored. So the question is simply this. After completing the restoration, what is the best way to confirm that the 3-GS is no longer locked to A T and T? Thanks for any help.
