No. your home player has nothing at all to do with the Bard app. Most
people want the full featured Talking Book player. They made the bard app
full featured. You don't have to use all the features if you don't wish to.
hope this helps. Also, the bard app is free so worst case is you wind up
deleting it. If that happens, you may be the first person in history then
to do that! <grin>
I would like to see them add a sync feature in a future update. I have both
my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 5s. It would be nice to be able to sync books and
better, your place in a book.

Subject: Re: BARD Mobile app question
Thank you to everyone for your responses. I understand that the ease of
navigation is dependent on the Daisy markup levels built into the recording.
However, my question is really about whether or not the functionality of the
navigation is keyed to a user's account. In other words, since in my case
with my current authorized player I cannot jump directly to level 2
navigation, am I likely to encounter the same restrictions on the phone app?
In this case, my options would seem to be either exchanging my player for an
advanced one if possible or, alternatively, using Read to Go or a similar
app to read this kind of book, in which case the same questions exist. It
sounds as though the BARD Mobile app works well for continuous reading
situations, but perhaps less well for student/reference situations when a
user, for example, wants to quickly access a recipe or Bible verse. Again,
any thoughts/clarifications are appreciated.

Yes. The bard mobile app has the same functions as the advanced player.
Above the play button will be a button that may say something like "front
matter" that when you double tap on it, depending on the levels available in
a given book, will toggle between all available levels. On either side of
that button are buttons labeled previous and next, so you can then jump by
whatever level you set.

Hi listers,
I have a question for BARD Mobile app users regarding the navigational
and access levels supported in the BARD app.
To be clearer, I’m one of those majority of BARD users with the beginner
level NLS player and no other reading device. For my reading needs I
seldom care about advanced navigation levels except in cookbooks, where
it is obviously more difficult to access recipes without an advanced
player. I am new to idevices and have just purchased an Ipod Touch. Like
many U.S. readers, I expect to use the BARD app extensively. When
downloading cookbooks, I’m wondering whether it might be possible to
enjoy level 2 navigation even though it is not available on my player.
Can anyone answer this factually? I’m not trying to start a debate on
what should be possible, but what others’ experiences are re this
question and what anyone can actually verify. Hope the question makes
sense.
Susan
