Can you tell me where the update button is in the app store. I found it once but I cannot find it now.

You can set whether updates are downloaded automatically or not by going into Settings -> iTunes and App Store and toggling the Updates button on or off. You can go into the Updates tab of the App Store to update a single app or update all apps, if you have automatic updates turned off.
