You first have to go into the Update tab. It's the right most tab along the bottom of the screen. I usually just locate it by putting my finger in the lower right hand corner of the screen and double tapping once I find it. Once the update tab opens, there will be an update all button near the top of the screen and an update button after each app listed which has an update pending.

Can you tell me where the update button is in the app store. I found it
once but I cannot find it now.

Thanks in advance

You can set whether updates are downloaded automatically or not by going
into Settings -> iTunes and App Store and toggling the Updates button on or
off.

You can go into the Updates tab of the App Store to update a single app or
update all apps, if you have automatic updates turned off. You can also
review your update history to see when you updated an app or when it was
updated automatically.

Hi,

How do you update an app or do they update automatically?
