Ah, you're right, sorry about that. I didn't see iPad in the body of his message the first time around, but I see it there now. sorry for the confusion.

Christopher,

Ed I believe is asking about locking orientation on his iPad which is
slightly different since you can set it so that the switch on the side which
on the iPhone is Mute On/Off acts as the orientation lock.

I don't see a lock rotation setting in Settings -> General. To set lock
rotation, I go into the Control center. You can do this by touching the top
of the screen in the status bar, such as where the time is displayed. Do a
three finger swipe up after you've touched the status bar. The lock rotation
option is in that list. You can toggle it on or off. Even if you have lock
rotation set on, some apps will still switch to landscape mode, such as
Solara and netflix, but you shouldn't switch to landscape mode just by
rotating your iPhone.

Hi

I went into General and selected lock rotation. But when I move my
IPad around it still goes into landscape mode and back to portrait
mode. It says lock rotation selected. What am I doing wrong that
the rotation still does not stop changing from one to the other.

Thanks in advance

Ed
