Yeah, this happens quite often. Just resubmit your query. If it gets stuck being silent, don't wait for it to tell you it can't just redo the question.
Sometimes I get better results by pushing and holding the home button, and while holding ask my question. Once I am done release the home button. Other times I get better results by pushing until it chimes, then I ask my question, and then do a two-finger double tap to finish my submit. Et c. Try all the various input methods. Remember, Apple gut about 10 million new Siri users in the last couple months. And that number is probably bigger now.
