Hello Regina, I'm on my way out of the house so cannot go into details as to possible fixes but this is a known issue that has to do with the physical radio chip on the device.
If you have not resolved the problem by later tonight, post to the list and I will give you some possible solutions. Of course, Google is replete with possible fixes on this. I'm assuming your device is an iPhone 4, or 4 S?
