Can I use Airport Express to play sound from another computer in a different room to my stereo. Currently I use a lap top for this near my stereo, but that computer is getting real slow. It's about seven years old.

You can just buy the airplay speaker and get it connected to your Wi-Fi network, and you should be good to go. If, on the other hand, you have a stereo system that you like, you could buy an airport express and connected to the input of your stereo system. Then you would connect the airport express to your existing wi-fi network.
