Apple supports phones for five years. The 16 GB 4s sells on eBay for $250. If you can’t save up for a 5s and desperately want to get into an iPhone now, then go with the 4s. Realize support will end in two to three years, but it is a lot less money when being bought used. If buying new, get the 5s.
