Hi Tessa,

Can't help you with your email without knowing if you are using POP or IMAP.
I heard about this with gmail which uses IMAP, but I'm not sure if it's the
same issue exactly. I seem to remember something that it shows some
ridiculous number of unread email, like 100,000 for some people, but I
thought that it's not like these are actually on your phone.

As for the repeat of the screen locked message this is simply a little bug
which is known and has been discussed many times. Nothing you can do about
it except wait and see if Apple will fix it in 7.1. The latest version which
you would have if you just upgraded is 7.04 and all the dot 0 upgrades are
usually updates Apple pushes out quickly to address serious bugs or security
issues. It's usually not until the first major update when we may see some
new features and more wide ranging fixes, but there are of course no
guarantees or announcements what will be fixed. I am sure Apple prioritizes
these things based on the feedback they receive just as any other company
would.
The repeat of the screen locked message in my opinion is a minor annoyance,
I would consider the various volume issues much more important, namely that
you can't properly use the volume rotor to adjust Voiceover volume because
the rotor gets stuck at 35% for most people and at other levels for a few
others and at least on my 5S Voiceover seems to be tied to the system volume
which means I can make Voiceover louder using the volume buttons, but that
also makes Voiceover sounds louder along with raising the volume for
whatever is playing. If, for example, I am listening to an audio book in the
evening when it's quiet and I turn it down quite low, then Voiceover also
becomes very quiet. Lastly, it is not possible to properly balance the
volume of a phone call with Voiceover by adjusting Voiceover volume with the
rotor and the call volume with the volume buttons. This was the case on my
4S before although I think in iOS 6 most people who had an iPhone 5 said
they could do this. With my old 4S it was possible in iOS 5, but iOS 6 broke
that and I really hope Apple can get this functionality back for people who
do use the phone in speakerphone mode and want to also hear Voiceover for
times when you are on an automated system where you have to hear prompts and
enter numbers.

I can only emphasize the importance to write an email or emails to
[email protected] and mention the screen lock message issue and other
things you come across and verify as bugs because the more emails they get
about a particular problem the more likely it is they will fix it.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: email and other question

Hi, I've the latest upgrade on my phone and I have over 2000 emails on it, I
seem to recall that someone suggested you would only have access to the
emails currently on your server, but my web mail inbox only has about 2000
emails but when I check that account on the phone it says i have over 1800
and when I move back through the list I still seem to be able to access
stuff that has already been removed from the server. Other than deleting
these one at a time what are my options?

Also when I turn my phone off it says screen locked, than about 10 seconds
later it says screen locked, any idea what's going on here?
Thanks all
Tessa
