Hi Larry,

You might want to try different HdMI cables. I am no expert, but there are
different HDMI standards. I have my Apple TV connected to one of the 6 HDMI
inputs of my sony home theatre receiver and it works flawlessly.
Theoretically it should work fine and the point of having a home theatre
system is that you connect all your devices to the receiver, get the sound
through the speakers and only have a single connection to the TV to deliver
the picture to the TV. I usually don't even ever turn on my TV unless I have
company.

Regards,
sieghard

Subject: apple tv and voiceover

Hi list. I ask for help in getting my new apple tv working with my LG
hometheater system. I was able to get everything working. However, I wanted
to pass on some information that may be helpful to others. I used the HDMI
connection to connect the apple tv to my television. I then connected an
optical cable from the television to the hometheater system. Voiceover is
very sluggish when coming through the hometheater system. There is no
sluggishness when coming through the television speakers. I have an HDMI
connection on the hometheater system which I also tried running the apple TV
through. The icons was visible on the television screen, but voiceover gave
no feedback at all.
