Well, for blind users, it does a lot of things in one app. IF YOU HAVE IT,YOU REALLY DON'T NEED ANYTHING ELSE. OTHER SOLUTIONS REQUIRE THAT YOU COBBLETWO OR MORE APPStogether to get the same functionality. But it may not be an option forthose who are cash strapped.

I totally agree, I think the $9.95 monthly subscription is awesome, it
allows people who are on the fence or who don't need the app very often to
try it or subscribe a couple of times a year when it would come in handy.
I hadn't bought the Seeing Eye app because I live in a very small town where
I rarely need a turn-by-turn GPS at all, but I occasionally travel where it
would be nice to have it. Last July when the app first came out 7 11 here in
Canada had a promotion where one could buy a $50 iTunes gift card for $40,
but while I bought 3 cards, $150 for $120, I still decided to hold off given
some of the limitations of the app. Given the 20% discount the app would
only cost me $104 for 3 years or $34.67 a year or $2.89 a month, but it's
still nice to try it for $9.95 and then decide.

One of the big issues in my view and also one Mike emphasized in his demo
was the fact that one could not use the Seeing Eye app with the phone
locked. Now that this functionality has been added (at least in iOS 7) I
decided today to buy a 1-month subscription since I am going to be in
Vancouver for a couple of days anyways next week. I tried it out today in my
home town and quite liked it. It very much reminded me of the sort of
feedback I got when I had a Trekker except that of course the Trekker
Maestro I bought 5 years ago was $2,000.

I think this is a smart move and the update seems to be a good one and it
definitely seems like Sendero is taking the customer feedback they receive
seriously. I still think that with the combination of Blindsquare and either
Apple Maps or Google Maps one can enjoy a lot of what the Seeing Eye app
offers, but the update combined with the monthly subscription is a good
idea.

I like the idea of the monthly subscription since there's no demo that you
could use to evaluate the app for a month or two.  If you drop ten bucks for

a month's trial, then decide to opt for a three-year subscription you're
still doing okay.

That comes out to about $119.90 for one year.  If I was thinking about
paying monthly for a year I would pay a bit more and get three times that
time.

Hello all. I just noticed that the Seeing Eye GPS app has an update.
Amongst several bug fixes and enhancements they have added a monthly
subscription. I don't yet know the cost however because when I try to go
there I get an error telling me that it's unable to purchase. Most likely
this is an error they overlooked because I see the price for the 3 year
and the 1 year subscription, but the monthly one has no price. So, I'm
curious to find out what that subscription will be. If anyone here knows
what that cost is, please share. I haven't looked on their site as yet
because I'm writing this email just a minute after trying the app on the
iPhone. So if the information is there, this is my bad for being lazy and
not checking first.
