Hi Chris I hear what you are saying but I would have thought that Apple would have shown something in the "about" setting section where one can distinguish the devices. In a year or so there would be an iPad mini 3 and then sharks can easily sell an iPad 2 representing its an iPad 3 if there is not some of an identification method. Regards Fanus

Does the same thing on your iPad mini happen almost instantly? If so then you have the new iPad mini, which boasts the new A7 chip while the iPhone 4s only boasts the A5 chip.
