Unless I missed something about this situation, you don't need to delete anything. Open Settings, then Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Double tap your iCloud account, and enable Mail. You will be prompted to create an iCloud email address; do so, and you've got one. Now, go to applied.apple.com, sign in, go to your account settings, and change your email address to your iCloud one. If the goal is to add an iCloud address to your Apple account, you just did it without needing to erase anything. Again, sorry if I missed something here and am not giving the instructions for what you are trying to do.
