How would I go about finding my other devices from another device. Ok, wait
that sounds confusing. How would I try and find my lost iphone using another
iphone?

Hi Jim,

You are right. From a PC, Find My iPhone through iCloud is completely useless
to a screen reader user.
I tried with Window-eyes and NVDA.

My sighted wife can get to the iPhone, and make it play a sound, if desired
even erase it, etc.
But, none of that is accessible.

I've written [email protected] and asked about this.
Granted, I will likely get the usual we forwarded it to the people who deal
with such things, which in too many cases seems to be people in the fifth
basement in a locked room, with no internet connection.
But, I'm letting my critical side come through. Obviously, Apple has done
amazing things with the iDevices and they have, actually, responded to customer
feedback. However, it seems awfully slow and frustrating at times.

Maybe, there needs to be a polite push from hundreds, if not thousands, of
blind users to get them to make this accessible from a PC. I have no idea how
accessible it might be from a Mac.

It is completely accessible from an iDevice.

Richard

I took a look at this link and went to the link provided and I could get no
info about my iPhone. Yes I have find my iphone active on all devices. Yet it
only sees one of my devices and I can not see any map data on it other then to
center the map. I wish they would provide some text information. Apple
accessibility is lacking terribly with the icloud. At least for me using win 7
and ie 11 you just can not do much of anything.

Androis with my s3 I can access everything I can lock the phone, make it ring
etc. I don't remember if gave me an address I could read though. I'll have to
go have a look at again.

Assuming you are talking about Apple's Find My iPhone app, here is the Apple
support page with information and links where you can learn all you need to
know to use Find My iPhone.

The part that makes it inaccessible is the map it shows. You can read
what address the device is, but beyond that someone would have to look at a
map. But, just knowing how to quickly get someone to that point before your
phone is turned off could help you retrieve it. Unfortunately, by the time I
figured out how to get to iCloud.com or download the app on another device,
whoever had found my phone had turned it off. Some 12 hours later they still
have not turned it in or called me to say they have it.

We just found out the hard way that one should really have at least some
familiarity with using where's my iPhone, either the app or iCloud.com.
Ironically, just last week I suggested we figure out that in case, and
today
she lost her phone. Unfortunately, it appears whoever found it has
disabled
the phone before we had a chance to locate it.

I guess this is one of the things to add to your fire drill routine.
