I don't have a case, and there's definitely a bit of room either side,
with an iPhone 5.

The Giraffe reader folds away to a much smaller package than the StandScan
Pro and is much quicker to assemble. It takes up very little space when
erected and would be practical to use in a restaurant to read the menu. It
is not as good a solution as the StandScan Pro, but it has its place.
I suspect I'm going to get much more use out of the Giraffe Reader than the
StandScan Pro because I can carry it in my handbag rather than in a
backpack. It's maybe a female thing, or just my age, but I don't like
carrying a backpack everywhere.
