The only other thing I can think of is an application called CopyTrans. I haven't used it, but I've seen it discussed on this and other lists.

Sounds like you might be talking about a program like DropBox. It stores
files in the cloud which you can then access from almost any device.
Google Drive, Ubuntu One and One Drive from Microsoft are other examples of
this service.
