I certainly have not noticed this, either. I don’t have a definite answer, but did you try to maybe close all apps and then turn your phone off for a minute and turn it back on? Sometimes that can fix little weird issues. My other question would be how you sync your contacts. Are you syncing them with your PC using iCloud or do you sync them manually using Outlook and iTunes? Also, do you allow Facebook access to your contacts? Could these be contacts from somewhere else that show on your phone but are not actually stored on your phone? Alan, although I have not checked on all of them; the contact that got me noticing this does have an area code, my uncle in California; I would have to dial an area code to reach him. Good thought though; unfortunately it doesn’t solve this particular problem. I know that you probably need the area code for sending texts and so forth. I always add the area code for all my contacts so I can call them no matter where I'm at and I believe this year you will be required to always call 10 digits even for local calls. It doesn't effect my iPhone because I've been doing it ever sense I had a cell phone all the way back to the days of the brick. For those who don't know what the brick was, the very first cell phones were roughly the size and weight of a brick. No memory, you had to manually dial everything first and then hit send and minutes cost dollars. Anybody remember a buck a minute?
