With all of the attempts to assist Laurie, I decided to check my status. I'm running the latest version of the OS with an iPhone 5S. When I swipe left or right, the name of my WiFi network is not verbalized. I went into settings, WiFi is on and the name of my network is shown. I then went back into the status area and did a two finger swipe down and the name of my network was verbalized. So I'm wondering Laurie if you may in fact be connected to WiFi? This is confusing to say the least. I used to see the name of my network when I swiped around on the top of the screen, but at least at the moment, I do not.
