Thanks very much for your help, would you be happy to talk to me off list if you have done this already? I am guessing that it is a wizard in the settings but I don't want to screw my phone up otherwise it will hhave to go back to Apple to be unlocked and then I would expect a charge and some way of proving that it is mine.

Also, if you do add Fingerprints and I really don't know why anybody who has a 5S would not do this as it works fantastically, you still have to remember that if you reboot your iPhone that the first time you unlock it you do have to use the passcode. The same is true if you try to unlock with your fingerprint and after 3 tries it does not work, at that point it will default back to the passcode.
