I didn't see the original message in this thread, so i apologize if there is an already-explained reason you can't do the following. Why not use Reminders and Siri? My family has a shared Reminder list called "shopping". Any one of us can tell Siri to "add [some item] to my shopping list". Once it is added, if any other family member opens the list, they see that new item. I don't know if there is a way to be notified of new additions to shared reminder lists, and I can't find one on Google, but aside from that it works well.
