I would think if you are going to insist on Apple doing things Microsoft's way that you would of bought a Windows phone. That would as I understand it would let you do exactly that. The scuttlebutt going around is that the upcoming windows phone will have it's own built in screen reader. This is my personal guess and it's worth what you paid for it, but I wouldn't be to surprised to see Window Eyes as their screen reader or some form of it. I'm not trying to start anything here just thinking out loud.

I would really like the ability to do file and folder management and to be able to transfer files of all types from my PC or laptop to my iPhone as if it were an external drive. I resent having to use iTunes for any file/folder management task and would dearly love to tell Apple to take iTunes and shove it way up where the sun don't shine.

File management: I know there are apps that do it, so sure, why Apple don't
provide something at system level has always bugged me. I have used the
apps, but having such a fundamental feature built-in, would be a monumental
and long-overdue benefit.

Certainly, the ability to have other keyboards system wide is a great
improvement. There wre 2 things I was hoping for that it appears we
will not be getting. First, the ability to install other voices and use
them system wide. Each person has their own voice preferences, but at
this point, any new voices that are installed can only be used with one
application. The other feature I wish we would have gotten is file
management. As far as I know, I O S is the only platform where copying
and moving files is very difficult.

Hello,

I just watched the keynote and the one thing I was hoping for, does not
appear to be coming to iOS 8. Hopefully, I'm wrong but I fear not.

I would truly love to be able to organize the threads in the Messages app; you know, be able to create folders so I can save important messages. All
I
saw in the keynote was the ability to name threads in group messages.
Again, I'm hoping I'm wrong and they will bring this feature to iOS 8 but
...

Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone know the major new iOS8 accessibility
features we know so far. This is from the Keynote - I don't even have
the beta, so I can't break an NDA.

* Better Zoom
* Touch ID and a countdown timer as ways to exit Assistive Touch
* multi-device support for compatible hearing aids
* the Alex voice from OS X (possibly for Siri, or VO, we don't know
for
sure)
* six-key braille input on-screen (no clue what this will look like)
* third-party keyboard support for the whole system, and Fleksy as
said on Twitter that it will be among the first to take advantage of
this. Yes, Fleksy will soon be available at any point in iOS when a
keyboard appears, from Mail to the App store to, well, anywhere!

That's all I can think of for now, but between those and the standard
iOS8 features, this is shaping up to be a very, very exciting release!

Have a great day,
