Holy messages! I go away for five hours, and come back to 35 messages in this
thread! <grin>

I'm surprised at the attacks going on here. Were my statements generalized too
far? Yes, but they are based on my using NVDA and Jaws across XP, Vista, and
Win7 on at least six computers that come to mind immediately - there are
probably more. That's not a fair sample size, but given that, plus all the
comments I get from users (even sighted) about how much more stable and easy
the Mac is to use, well, there must be something to it. Obviously the Mac has
flaws and bugs, which is why I suggested the www.applevis.com site and its page
for new Mac users, plus the forums and there Mac resources. The forums are a
great place to ask this question, and get more varied answers than you might
find here. These are my opinions, and I would appreciate being extended the
same courtesy that Joseph wants - don't assume my background, or tell me I'm
just wrong because your machine works while the many I and others have
encountered don't. When it comes to a choice like this, there is no right or
wrong; if there were, the "wrong" platform would not still be in business. Oh,
and for free screen-reading on Windows, NVDA is a great choice, especially
nowadays.
