Sieghard,
Its not easy to get close enough to hear it and not activate the proximity sensor. I guess the best solution is to always use the ear buds when possible. The microphone in the ear buds gives good quality audio as per the Skype audio check. I also tried with my blue tooth headset but the audio there is not as good as with the ear buds. It switches to phone quality. Thanks for everything Ron & Danvers From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2014 11:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Problem with Skype Hi Ron, Only thing you can do is raise Voiceover volume by turning the rotor to volume and then flick up. However, I just tried this and even with the volume flicked up to 100% I still had to hold the earpiece as close to my ear as possible without triggering the proximity sensor which of course deactivates the touch screen. I believe volume is not in the rotor by default in which case you may have to go to Voiceover Settings, then double tap on Rotor and select volume before you can turn the rotor and find it. I tried with ear buds and I can hear the voice in the background. This raises another question. How do I raise the voice over voice at the same time as lowering the caller's voice. If I raise the voice over voice the caller becomes very louad. Thanks to all who responded to my question Ron & Danvers From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2014 2:49 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Problem with Skype Hi Ron, I don't really know except that maybe Voiceover is not loud enough for you to hear it until you turn on the speaker so you think it's not working where in fact you just don't hear it. Have you tried with headphones? I would plug in the earpods, then try it, toggle on the speakerphone, toggle it off again and flick left and right to see how this works. If I do this I also have to hold up the phone pretty close to my ear so I can hear Voiceover since it's comig through the earpiece until you turn on speakerphone. Same situation. I can't slide my finger on the screen as you say. If I double tap just above the home button, I can now hang up. If I double tap in the centre of the screen a bit below the speaker as you told me before, I can turn on the speaker but I can't do any sliding. Once I turn on the speaker, I can flick left or right through the menu without problems Do you have any idea why Voice Over won't speak the screen as I slide my finger around? After I place a call I have "End Call" a bit up from the Home key, I just put my finger on the home button and move it straight up. Once I find End Call I can flick left for the in-call DialPad, for Mute and for Speakerphone On/Off. I don't get a menu on the screen that allows me to turn on the speaker or even hang up. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? By the way, I have the latest version that came out today but I had the same problem with the previous version. Ron & Danvers A bachelor is a guy who never made the same mistake once.
