That would be like saying a sighted person would have to look at the iPhone to see the information the watch provides. Yes, the watch requires an iPhone, but it will have its own apps and one major roll is to give access to notifications and messages/emails quickly so if it doesn’t speak it will be of little or no use to a blind person.
